Dr. Samuels with Rob Brown of CBC

Centre for Sleep and Human Performance's Medical Director, Dr. Charles Samuels, spoke with Rob Brown for the CBC Calgary 6pm news on January 8th to discuss the new College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) regulations for Alberta sleep apnea clinics. The interview begins at the 20:06 mark.

Dr. Samuels also chatted with CBC's Shannon Scott for the 11pm news on the same day. Check out that interview here! It begins at the 18:18 mark.

According to this CBC article, "new CPSA accreditation standards, put in place Jan. 1, 2018, lay out numerous requirements including that sleep medicine facilities must have a medical director who is a physician with specific sleep medicine credentials and test results must be interpreted by an approved doctor."

Sleep apnea clinics have gone unregulated prior to this.
